The first fine wood floors appeared in the Renaissance.

Their relative light weight was well suited to suspended upper floors.

The wooden floor meant a floor of wide boards, simply nailed, and sometimes even without tongues and grooves.

The boards were of fixed length, because they were end jointed at the rafter positions. Perigord Parquet offers a variety of flooring boards that can create a floor in your hoome in this tradition, and avoids the banal regularity of industrial standard widths.
